Developing reading skills as an element of the communicative competence (the negotiation of meaning and the didactic process)

The author discusses a multiaspectual model of context, which will become a tool in media text interpretation. It includes three independent criteria: the level of reference, the quality of context, and the level of generality. In the article, she presents an exemplary analysis of an interview, along with some preparatory exercises. The outcome of these exercises is to learn how to interpret a text form various perspectives, include the context in the analysis and prepare for a discussion.
