Focus and Scope of the Journal

Ekonomia Międzynarodowa (International Economics, hereinafter: EM) is a scientific journal focusing on transnational economic phenomena in the financial and real sphere, macro and micro scale, historical and contemporary approach. Not only do we find processes in the world economy interesting, but also elements of national and regional economies in their international or internationally comparable aspects.

The aim of the journal is to publish original and interdisciplinary scientific articles presenting international economic phenomena, both in terms of the global economy and national, local, regional markets, influencing each other and the financial policy of individual countries. In addition, the journal strives to broadly integrate the community of researchers dealing with economic issues, being a kind of forum for expressing opinions on finance, economics, and business, as well as presenting and disseminating the results of empirical research in the field of economic and social sciences, mainly set in an international context.

EM was founded in 2010 as an official journal of the University of Lodz, published and funded by its Faculty of Economics and Sociology.

Since 2018, only the electronic version of the journal is being released. An issue is considered published at the moment of its uploading to the journal's website

We are pleased to announce that, since 2021, International Economics has featured a new section entitled “Young Scholars’ Debuts”, dedicated to articles by young researchers, including students and doctoral candidates.

Manuscripts submitted to this section undergo the journal’s standard publication and peer-review procedure.

The basic license for publishing articles in the journal is CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 (Attribution – Non-Commercial Use – No Derivatives). At the author's request it is possible to publish it under the CC-BY (Attribution) license.
