Scientific Panopticon, What Means That Did You Know?

Abstract

Without deep cultural change, it is going to be extremely hard to shape a new image of management science, whose dark aspects are the personality and the attitude of the scientist. In this panoptic approach, the scientist brings a wax figure, an artificial creation to mind, both in scientific and educational activities. Change is possible and necessary, determined by conscious and intentional elimination of cultural influence which shaped the image of the science in past times: until 1989 and after the transformation. Like all syndromes, these problems are hard and require evolutionary changes. On one hand, without the repression, on the other hand without the particular tolerance and privileges (resulting from formal authority) for the people shaping those times. The hope lies in the young generation of scientists, as long as they don't give in to the influence of figures.
