Abstract

Nowadays The Vampire is considered to be an unsuccessful work of W. S. Reymont; however, the writer’s contemporaries appreciated it. The value of this novel is that reflects the cultural atmosphere of the epoch, the ideological and religious anxiety and the interest in paranormal phenomena.
