The history of the development of China’s first typewriters: from mechanical devices to modern computers

The main purpose of this article is to describe issues related to history, the circumstances of the formation and the functioning of the Chinese typewriter. The study omitted the issues related to the development of Chinese writing, because the issues in this area (in contrast to the Chinese typewriters) are generally available in sinology textbooks, scientific or popular books. The study contains information on the two Chinese typewriters: Machines created by Hou-Kun Chow and Lin Yutang. The information in the article were taken from the patent documents and English-language publications.References
