Which community: “komunikacyjna" or "komunikatywna”? — lexicographic considerations

Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the dictionary history of the adjectives komunikacyjny and komunikatywny. The presentation of the history of both adjectives in Polish lexicography is used to answer the question of which of them can be used to define a language community. The data contained in general dictionaries of the Polish language, both historical and contemporary, allow us to consider both lexemes as synonyms in the context of a community, although none of the lexicons records the connections wspólnota komunikacyjna / wspólnota komunikatywna.
