Abstract

The aim of this article is to show the functions which music can perform in radio reportage. The analysis is based on documentaries created over the past decade by famous Polish reporters, such as Katarzyna Michalak, Cezary Galek, Julia Prus and Hanna Bogorya-Zakrzewska together with Ernest Zozuń. Fragments of their works were used as the exemplification of the different roles which soundtrack can perform, such as: to illustrate, to describe, as well as to complete narration, composition or the characteristics of a situation, people, etc.
