The Qualitative Sociology Review, indexed in ESCI since 2025, has received its first Journal Impact Factor, with a value of 0.7.

What is the Journal Impact Factor?

JIF is a citation indicator based on Web of Science metrics. Its value is calculated by dividing the number of citations received in the most recent year to articles published in the two previous years by the total number of articles published in the journal during those same two years.

Similarly to the CiteScore, the JIF is a non-standardized indicator. To assess a journal’s impact within a specific discipline, it is necessary to take into account its percentile rank and quartile placement.

Place in the ranking

Based on the 2025 JIF, Qualitative Sociology Review has a percentile rank of 27.7, placing the journal in the third quartile within the „sociology” category.

This means the journal is among the top 75% of highest-ranked journals in its field.

Journal Citation Indicator (JCI) – the normalized indicator, which measures the average citation impact of citable items (articles and reviews) published by the journal in the last three years – was 0.30.
